海蒂梦露 started 教学 full time at SPU in 2007 while continuing in practice as a pediatric registered nurse at 西雅图 Children’s Hospital, where she worked for 26 years. She has long been associated with SPU, and graduated from the same program in which she now teaches. Dr. Monroe has built extensive nursing experience since 1989, working in pediatric acute, 非固定的, and community settings. She has developed a deep appreciation for children and their families and seeks to promote excellent nursing care to help them thrive.
Dr. Monroe’s 教学 and 研究 also focus on the education and practice of clinical ethics in nursing. Her doctoral dissertation, Education and Experience in 护理 Professional Values Development described opportunities and obstacles in nurses’ alignment with the nursing code of ethics. Additional 研究 has been in the area of diversifying the nursing workforce, specifically related to men in the profession. 她的论文, Recruitment and Retention of Men in Pediatric 护理: Their Perceptions and Experiences in a Regional Pediatric Medical Center described the challenges and rewards experienced by men caring for children and their families in their nursing careers. 2021年，博士.
