沟通 and Journalism Faculty

When you choose a major or minor in the The Department of 沟通 and Journalism, you will be prepared as a graduate of competence and character who understands communication as a social, 知识, 道德, 艺术过程. You will also engage in communication and journalism as a responsible human behavior.

通信(BA)

• A minimum of 55-58 credits are required for this major, including 25-28 upper-division credits.
• You will choose one of two tracks — 沟通s Studies or Journalism Track — when you major in 沟通.
• The General Core in this major is 30 credits, including Public Speaking and 沟通 Ethics. This major also includes 10 elective credits.
• 大四的时候， you will choose one Senior Seminar such as Persuasive Campaigns, 性别的沟通, 和异议修辞.

交流小

• A minimum 30 credits are required for this minor, including 15 upper-division credits.
• This minor includes 15 credits of electives, of which 10 credits must be upper-division.
• This minor includes courses such as Theories of 沟通, 媒体写, Advanced Topics in 沟通, 编辑与设计.

应用 to the Major or Minor

To apply for a major in 沟通, you must have completed two courses in 沟通 or Journalism, and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5或更高(i.e., 4.0 = A) in all college work applicable to the degree or 3.0 in the 45 credits immediately preceding application for the major.
