的low-residency Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at 网易彩票下载 is a 创意写作 program for apprentice writers — both Christians 和 those of other traditions — who not only want to pursue excellence in the craft of writing but also want to place their work within the larger context of the Judeo-Christian tradition of faith.
The spiritual dimension of this program is not intended to produce didactic, 宗派, 或者是感伤文学. At the heart of any low-residency program is the ancient relationship between master 和 apprentice. Writing is ultimately a solitary experience, so your rhythm of sending packets of completed material 和 receiving feedback from mentors is both appropriate 和 effective. The beauty of this type of program is that it allows you to maintain your current job 和 location, while participating in two stimulating 和 intensive residency periods at stunning locations in the American West: the high desert of 新墨西哥 和 an isl和 off the coast of the Pacific Northwest.

Faculty at the 派驻 consists of a group of current mentors along with a number of invited guest speakers, including some of America’s most celebrated writers. You are required to attend a total of five residencies over the course of two academic years.
The 10-day residencies take place in March 和 August. The residency dates for the 2016–17 academic year are 2016年7月28日至8月7日 和 2017年3月16日至26日.

The relationship between you 和 your faculty mentor is the heart of the low-residency MFA program. 作为一名艺术硕士学生, you will have two responsibilities: the 创意写作 project in a chosen genre 和 the reading list.

The norm for low-residency MFA courses is for you to spend 25 hours writing 和 reading per week.

In close consultation with your faculty mentors, you will formulate a course of reading. Readings are chosen from two categories: classic works from the Judeo-Christian literary tradition 和 contemporary works that may serve as models 和 inspiration for your immediate creative needs 和 gifts. Special emphasis is placed on gaining a deeper underst和ing of the classic works 在你选择的类型中. By the end of the two-year program, you will have read a minimum of 62 books.
You will write one short critical paper (approximately seven pages in length) per quarter in preparation for your long critical essay (20 pages), due at the end of the fifth quarter. Each quarter, all students in 这个项目 study a text from the common reading list. Recent common-reading texts include:

入学要求
To qualify for admission consideration, you must turn in an online application packet to the 研究生招生. Please bear in mind the following things:
